Benefits Of Using TIBCO Hawk For Monitoring Applications

TIBCO Hawk is a network monitoring and management software for distributed systems and applications in the enterprise. It is designed using the concept of an independent smart agent. TIBCO Hawk is largely used in enterprise applications in different organizational setups from medium to large scale.

There are many benefits associated with the use of TIBCO Hawk for monitoring enterprise applications. A few of these benefits are given below:

Reduction In Sudden System Outages

TIBCO Hawk has capability to automatically detect and repair system failures which helps in reducing overall system outages. This feature of TIBCO Hawk is highly beneficial for production environments where outages greatly affect company revenues.

Less Bandwidth Consumption

TIBCO Hawk uses decentralized monitoring mechanism which reduces network traffic and results in lower consumption of network bandwidth. Typically HAWK agent is installed on each and every machine where monitoring is required.

By independent running HAWK agents, system administrators can continue local monitoring even if network has any issues or failures.

Efficient Rule Based Monitoring

With TIBCO Hawk, monitoring of applications can be optimized by defining advanced monitoring rules. On each application being monitored, special and customized rules can be configured. As an example, you can set rules on an application that whenever it has failures, it should be automatically restarted and some alerts should be generated and sent as SMS or Email to the concerned person.

    Hi Ajmal,

I recently joined as TIBCO Admin. I have a scenario where I am required to remove a team’s email id from the alerts.
I am very much new to hawk. Also the team said they have a particular set of queues. They want alerts only for those queues and not for others. Please suggest what to be done in this case. Your help will be much appreciated.
